The Salt & Pepper Overshirt is a modernised version of a garment designed for the mountain regiment of the Swiss army. During WWII, Switzerland couldn't rely on other countries supplying cotton to outfit their military. Because of this and in an effort to conserve their supply, they developed their own textile supplementing their yarn with nettle fibres to create a fabric they called 'Salt & Pepper'. This textile is an incredibly durable and rugged fabric, it's flecked green colour is a subtle reminder of it's heritage.
The heavy weight of this Overshirt means it can be worn by itself as a light jacket or layered up for those colder months.
