The fabric lining is made from a durable organic cotton. Organic cotton is better for the soil, the farmers and their families due to the damage that can be caused by chemicals used in conventional cotton production.
The outer fabric of our limited edition backpack is a durable waxed cotton. The cotton is grown in the USA and certified by BCI (Better Cotton Initiative), it is then sent to a mill in Pakistan whom our supplier has been working with over the last 10 years and visited several times during this time.
The wax waterproof's the cotton, so in order to keep it's waterproofing will need to be periodically re-waxed.
The leather patch was made using vegetable tanned leather, meaning the hides are dyed using natural tannins free from toxic substances such as azo-dyes, nickel and chrome VI. The raw hides used by the tannery are by-products of the food industry.
The patch was then laser engraved here in Bristol.
