MELANGE ORGANIC FLANNEL SHIRT BURNT ORANGE

MELANGE ORGANIC FLANNEL SHIRT BURNT ORANGE

£89.00
SMLXL

Now before you even think about buying one of our flannel shirts, here’s what you need to know.

Flannel has been around since the 17th century and is known for being super soft.

Our shirts are no exception.

They’re made from a fine organic cotton, with a well tailored cut, not too regular, not too slim. Good for work and dinner out. They’re light. Warm enough for a late summer evening and layer well in the winter months.

They’re made in a certified factory by Danish brand, Knowledge Cotton Apparel. Knowledge are built on 50 years of family experience. Needless to say, they know how to make good shirts. Shirts made to last you years.

Buttoned down collar, chest pocket, embroidered logo. These flannels have everything you’d expect from a premium, sustainable shirt.

We’ve got these super soft shirts in three colours; deep blue, forest green and burnt orange. They were a best-seller last year and we’ve got a suspicion they will be this year too.
Okay, now you can think about placing one in your shopping cart.

THE ETHICS

The Brand Story

The story of KnowledgeCotton Apparel began in 1969, when Jørgen Mørup, together with his father, opened a small textile company in Herning, Denmark. They were early adopters of sustainability working with organic cotton since the late 1980s. In 2008, Jørgen and his son Mads founded KnowledgeCotton Apparel built on almost 50 years of family experience.

Knowledge produce timeless, sustainable products, promoting fashion that respects our planet. Design, innovation, responsible environmental practice and a passion for quality are at the core of their philosophy. From raw material to finished garment, Knowledge follow best practice principles to reduce their impact on our planet.

Their latest objective - to become 100% carbon neutral throughout the supply and distribution chain by working with factories powered by green power. KnowledgeCotton Apparel don't just talk, they take action.

The Factory

This garment was cut & sewn in Turkey. The factory Knowledge Cotton Apparel work with is independently certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) a high level certification which independently certifies working conditions and environmental management.

Organic Cotton

Organic cotton is better for the soil, the farmers and their families due to the damage that can be caused by chemicals used in conventional cotton production. The organic cotton used for this garment is certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard.

42% of the organic cotton that KnowledgeCotton used in 2018 came from Chetna Organic a Fair Trade project in India.

Where can Knowledge Cotton Apparel improve?

The GOTS wage policy currently only requires that factories pay the legal minimum wage. We would like to see KnowledgeCotton Apparel make steps towards implementing a living wage throughout their supply chain.
