The Brand Story

The story of KnowledgeCotton Apparel began in 1969, when Jørgen Mørup, together with his father, opened a small textile company in Herning, Denmark. They were early adopters of sustainability working with organic cotton since the late 1980s. In 2008, Jørgen and his son Mads founded KnowledgeCotton Apparel built on almost 50 years of family experience.

Knowledge produce timeless, sustainable products, promoting fashion that respects our planet. Design, innovation, responsible environmental practice and a passion for quality are at the core of their philosophy. From raw material to finished garment, Knowledge follow best practice principles to reduce their impact on our planet.

Their latest objective - to become 100% carbon neutral throughout the supply and distribution chain by working with factories powered by green power. KnowledgeCotton Apparel don't just talk, they take action.

This garment was cut & sewn in Turkey. The factory Knowledge Cotton Apparel work with is independently certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) a high level certification which independently certifies working conditions and environmental management.

Organic cotton is better for the soil, the farmers and their families due to the damage that can be caused by chemicals used in conventional cotton production. The organic cotton used for this garment is certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard.

Organic linen is one of the most sustainable fabrics, and it's also biodegradable.

The GOTS wage policy currently only requires that factories pay the legal minimum wage. We would like to see KnowledgeCotton Apparel make steps towards implementing a living wage throughout their supply chain.
